Yoda

Hi all,

It’s been so long since I’ve submitted! As I mentioned in my journal it’s been a busy summer working so not much time for painting! There’s a story to go along with this painting so here goes…. I’m working for part of the Jobcentre over the summer (it’s a call centre) and one day we had a motivational speaker talk to us all about various work related stuff and how we could all make our lives better through positive thinking… to be fair the guy was quite good and not as cheesy as it sounds. Anyway the boss then asked me to work on some posters of some of the key points the speaker made – keep the ideas ‘live and kicking’ in her words. I was happy to oblige as the guy used cool Star Wars and Star Trek references during his talk – I knew where my inspiration would come from. So I painted Yoda for the office. This was done on 100cm by 80cm stretched canvas using acrylic paints. The best thing is they paid for the materials and I got time off work to do it! So this, ladies and gentleman, is indeed my first commission and I now hanging proudly on the office wall.
